The company

Who Precision Patch Pros is

Precision Patch Pros repairs drywall for homeowners in Bakersfield and across Southern California. Sherman Burkhead owns the company, which has been in business since 2020.

Drywall repair is a local search. A homeowner with a hole in the wall types "drywall repair" and the name of their town, then calls one of the first businesses they see. Some of those jobs are small patches. Others, like a water-damage repair after an insurance claim, run into the thousands.

1. A new Google Ads build, February 2026

The old campaigns were paused and rebuilt from scratch in February 2026: search campaigns for the repairs people type in, grouped by service and town, with location assets so the ads can also show in the sponsored spot on the map. Each ad leads to a page on the company's own website built for phones. Tracking numbers and form tracking went on before the first ad ran, so every lead has a source. The Google Ads account, the billing card and the data are in Sherman's name.

2. Google Business Profile

The profile was cleaned up and filled in, then kept working with job photos Sherman supplies, regular posts, and review requests sent by email after jobs. Each request asks the customer to describe the job and the town in their own words. We never suggest wording or a rating.

3. The website

Pages for each service and the towns the company serves, fast on a phone, with a quote form on every page. Clicks from organic results carry no per-click cost, and organic leads are part of the March count below.

What we measure

Every week Sherman gets a written report: calls and forms by service and town, cost per tracked lead, and Search Share, the percentage of Google's four result types where Precision Patch Pros shows up for the searches that bring it jobs. The sales figures come from Sherman, who reports closed jobs back to us by email.

Takeaways

What other contractors can take from this

01

Track before you spend

Tracking numbers and form tracking went on before the first ad ran. That is why we know what the first click cost and what it turned into. Put the tracking in first, and every number after it means something.

02

The first calls from search ads can come fast

The first paid click came on February 18, 2026 and closed the next day. Search ads reach people who already want the work done. The map pack, organic results and AI answers take longer to build, and each one lowers what a job costs once it's working. Read how the LDC Framework works.

03

Count the leads the software misses

In April 2026, Google Ads counted 15 conversions on $1,025 in spend. Calls dialed by hand from the website were left out of that count, so the real cost per lead was lower than $68. Ask about the leads your reports don't see before you judge a campaign.

04

Judge Google by closed jobs

Sherman reports closed jobs back to us, so March's 26 leads can be read as $11,030 in sales and 36% of the month. Without that, the report stops at leads. If your office would struggle to keep up with more calls, see how our AI answering service works.
